Proposals for high-quality employment space in the UK’s Golden Triangle for logistics

Ashfield Land owns part of the extensively quarried land between Gibbet Lane and the A5. The work to extract materials from this site is now complete and Ashfield Land is looking to regenerate it to deliver much-needed new jobs and to bring lasting economic life to the site.

Our design
principles

We are committed to a set of core principles that will shape the design of our proposals and help to deliver a development of the highest standards. Your feedback will help us to shape the final scheme before we submit a planning application later this year.

  • Nature: our proposals will restore and enhance habitats, helping to deliver a net gain in biodiversity in line with national policy. Landscaping and new planting will reduce the visual impact of the proposals on the surrounding community.
  • High-quality design: we will deliver a modern and attractive employment development that is underpinned by high-quality design, construction and sustainability standards.
  • Supporting a sustainable economy by meeting growing demand for logistics space and delivering new investment in the area.
  • Creating approximately 800 new jobs in a growth sector.
  • Shaped by engagement: we have engaged from an early stage with local representatives and would like to hear your views during the public engagement.

Meeting demand for
logistics space

The site is located at the heart of the UK’s Golden Triangle for logistics, widely acknowledged as the most sustainable location in the UK due to its close proximity to the M1, M6 and A5. It is therefore an ideal location to deliver a high-quality business development.

There is an acknowledged need for more logistics space to meet demand in the area which is in large part driven by the structural shift in the retail market with greater reliance on online shopping. A5 East Logistics Park can contribute towards meeting this demand.

Supporting the
local economy

Logistics is a growing sector that can deliver long-term economic growth and contribute to building a strong and sustainable economy – both locally and nationally – through delivering around 800 new jobs and attracting millions of pounds in investment.
